| Show Girl Costume Basics |
This is a costume I made awhile back for a runway show I had at Eric Fisher Academy. This is a very inexpensive way to have such a creative costume for Halloween!
What you will need for this project:
- A Tutu
- Black head band
- Rhinestones
- Feathers of your choice
- & a hot glue gun
Now starting off with the tutu, you can either buy one premade at a costume/dance studio shop. I bought mine premade at Party city for around $15. To dazzle it up I bought Rhinestone packages at Hobby Lobby 50% off for $2.00 a package with 100 ct. each. You just place as many as you would like using the hot glue gun. Now for the showgirl Headdress, I just bought a black headband at Target for 2/$1 I really didnt need two but you just want to try to get a color that matches your hair color, so it blends. The peacock feathers, and mix match feathers that I bought all came from Hobby Lobby. Usually if you keep looking at their ads in the paper you can get stuff dirt cheap, they always have this stuff go for 50% off. I spent around $10 for all of the feathers and still have a TON left over for other projects. All you do is hot glue the feathers on to the headband, make sure that their is enough glue to make them stick, with out breaking off. My little trick is to glue them on, hold it tight to the headband then put more hot glue on the back side so it really stays! Then if you would like to add some more bling, put some rhinestones on the head band and the feathers! And their you have it !
For extra flair add on some blingy jewelry, body glitter, high heels, a corset top, fishnets, and gloves.
